Note: Please check later for as yet unprepared “retro” posts which will detail the good times had at Geikie Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge.
Yes we have arrived at Broome (for the first time) and this post just by way of letting people know this before we head off in to the wilderness again! It's a bit different to be seeing conventional sedans and sweet-smelling, clean-shaven people power walking and applying sun lotion on a pristine beach! Tomorrow we are booked in to Middle Lagoon on the Dampier Peninsula where we hope to spend the next 6 nights.
Of course everyone knows the name of Cable Beach in Broome – without researching I wasn’t sure what to expect. There was certainly a “wow” factor coming over the dune and seeing the beautifully coloured water and expanse of sand.
We enjoyed a swim (although a little freaked by the number of pink jellyfish) although reassured that the last “stinger” injury was back in June (and the presence of stinger First Aid boxes containing that amazing medication … vinegar)!
A few pictures for our life-saving friends Brenda and Dave (and tipping a lid to the Caloundra Surf Club)!
OMG!!! Those are brilliant pics Pete! I loved Cable Beach it was so pretty and the waves weren't too big! Did any of u go on the sunset camel ride? Mum and I did and it was soooo amazing!!! I love camels! The first we went for a swim at Cable beach it was cold and poring with rain! Haha! Banjo, Moses and I had the time of our lives splashing and riding the waves but poor mum and grandma didnt want to swim and so had to stand on the beach, freezing cold until we wanted to go home!!! The rest of the time we spent in Broome it didn't rain again so everyone could enjoy themselves at the beach. I hope u all are having heaps of fun and adventure and are enjoying having no school!!! Love to u all! xoxox Ruby and Moses
