Killing time in Kununurra

IMG_6247
We had a morning to occupy ourselves and enjoyed a road trip through the irrigated areas to the north of town visiting:
  • Ivanhoe Cafe – breakfasted on mango smoothies and variations on brekkie eggs, sausage and toast combinations. Sitting at picnic tables under the wonderfully shady mango trees was a delight!
  • The Sandalwood factory – watched promotional videos explaining this industry (producing Indian sandalwood trees for use in cosmetics and religious ceremonies)
  • A Zebra rock stone art studio – Stone Art Gallery
  • Ivanhoe Crossing (closed)
Pictures also show the kids enjoying the caravan park swimming pool and meeting a freshie called George who frequented the shore within metres of our campsite! We also arrived in time for a Kununurra Lake happy hour with nibbles provided by the caravan park (including some barramundi).

Our drive was of course punctuated by stops to get a closer view of local birdlife treats!
